Dr. Janke received her Ph.D. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she took a position with the College of Pharmacy at
Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where she worked as a professor and researcher.
In 1997, Dr. Janke moved back to the U.S. and began preparing the Doctor of Pharmacy Program for Practicing Pharmacists for its Fall 1998 launch. In July 1998, Dr. Janke was charged with the development of the Office of Outreach Education. This office was responsible for providing learning opportunities for pharmacists. These opportunities included:
In 2002,
the Office of Outreach Education evolved into the Office
of Educational Development with expanded responsibilities.
The Office currently provides continuing
education for pharmacists, but also delivers several courses
for university and professional students, in addition to assisting
with the College's expansion to Duluth.
Dr. Janke has been actively
involved with educational research and is the 1997 recipient
of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada Bristol-Myers
Squibb National Award for Excellence in Education. For her contributions
to web-based instruction, Dr. Janke received University of Minnesota
Innovations in Technology Enhanced Learning Awards in both 1998
and 1999. Read
