  • Elliott M. Sogol, PhD, RPh, FAPhA

    Director for Postgraduate Education and Continuing Education at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy (Chair)

    Elliott M. Sogol, PhD, RPh, FAPhA is the Director for Postgraduate Education and Continuing Education at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. His responsibilities include directing the Master of Science in Health Services Administration program. In addition, he teaches in the program and has responsibility for ACPE approved continuing education programs offered through the University.  Mr. Sogol also has responsibilities to foster collaborative relationships with other departments within the University and externally to the University regarding professional educational program development and collaboration with other groups such as medicine, nursing, and other allied health professions.  He also serves as the school’s delegate to AACP for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. Prior to this role he was the Senior Vice President for Strategy for Pharmacy Quality Solutions (PQS).  Prior to joining PQS, Mr. Sogol held positions in the Healthcare Professional Services group for Target Corporation. His responsibilities included strategic planning, patient medication quality and safety review, clinical services development, relationship management in healthcare, clinical pharmacy education services, and pharmacist and technician clinical educational training and programs.  Prior to these roles Mr. Sogol was the pharmacy manager at a Target pharmacy.  He has also held positions in academia at Campbell University School of Pharmacy and the University of Illinois-Chicago. In addition, he held leadership positions in the corporate and R&D divisions within Glaxo Smith Kline.  Mr. Sogol co-authored the books “The Good Pharmacist; Characteristics, Virtues, and Habits,” and “The Good Pharmacist; Enhancing Pharmacy as a Ture, Clinical, and Paid Profession.”

  • Tim Jacobs, PharmD, BCPPS

    Program Manager- Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee (Vice-Chair)

    Tim Jacobs is currently the program manager for pharmacy education at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Assistant Professor at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Pharmacy in Memphis, Tennessee. Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Middle Tennessee State University and his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from UTHSC College of Pharmacy.

    For the past 12 years, Tim has worked at St. Jude in a myriad of different roles.  Upon graduation from pharmacy school, he completed an departmental career training program that allowed him to assume a role as a clinical pharmacist on the benign hematology service.  After board certification he transitioned into a role as a clinical pharmacy specialist focusing additionally in onco-critical care.  Tim is a member of various institutional committees including Continuing Medical Education and the chair of the departmental Continuing Pharmacy Education committee as well as the administrator of the ACPE accredited program at St. Jude.

  • Richard Breeden, PharmD, BCNSP, BCPS

    Assistant Dean of Student Services and Experiential Education and Associate Professor, South College School of Pharmacy

    Richard Breeden, PharmD, BCNSP, BCPS is the Assistant Dean of Student Services and Experiential Education and Associate Professor at South College School of Pharmacy. He earned his PharmD from Mercer University and is board certified in both Nutrition Support and Pharmacotherapy. Dr. Breeden’s career includes extensive clinical practice in critical care and nutrition support, service as a residency program director, and leadership on the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, where he served as President in 2024. He is also a site team evaluator for the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

  • Mary Barna Bridgeman, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCGP, FCCP, FASCP, FNAP

    Clinical Professor, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

    Mary Barna Bridgeman, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, FASCP, FCCP, FNAP is a Clinical Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She maintains a clinical practice as an Internal Medicine Pharmacist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-New Brunswick. Dr. Bridgeman is dual board certified in geriatrics and pharmacotherapy. Dr. Bridgeman graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She then completed a post-graduate pharmacy residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-New Brunswick, New Jersey.

    Dr. Bridgeman has served as the Director of the Council on Educational Affairs and presently serves as Continuing Pharmacy Education Administrator for the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacy. At the School of Pharmacy, she co-chairs the Continuing Professional Development and Education Committee and has been an active member of the Interprofessional Continuing Education Administrative Group with Rutgers Health, a Joint Accredited Provider with Commendation for Interprofessional Continuing Education. Dr. Bridgeman’s scholarly interests in continuing pharmacy education include implementation and evaluation of strategies for supporting the effective engagement of learners of the health professions within continuing education activity planning and development.

  • Stacy Bruce, PharmD, BCPS

    Pharmacist Therapeutic Policy Management , Regulatory and Compliance, Continuing Pharmacy Education Administrator, UAB Medicine, UAB Hospital Department of Pharmacy

    Stacy W. Bruce, PharmD, BCPS, is an experienced pharmacist with over 15 years of expertise in clinical pharmacy, therapeutic policy management, and medical communications. Currently serving at the University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham, she leads initiatives in regulatory compliance and serves as the CPE Administrator for the continuing pharmacy education program. Stacy holds board certification in pharmacotherapy and is actively pursuing a Master of Science in Public Health at UAB.

    Her diverse background includes roles in clinical pharmacy, community health, and medical communications, where she led scientific content development for national and international symposiums. She contributes to professional organizations such as ACPE, ALSHP, and Toastmasters International, as well as serves as a pharmacy resident preceptor at UAB Hospital.

    Stacy is passionate about advancing pharmacy practice through continuing education and professional development; strategic planning and initiatives; policy development and implementation; and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Holly Byrnes, PharmD, BCPS

    Senior Director, National Meetings Education, Office of Professional Development and Publishing, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists

    Holly Byrnes, PharmD, BCPS is currently Senior Director, National Meetings Education at ASHP, where she currently oversees education for ASHP’s national meetings and serves as Continuing Education (CE) administrator for both ASHP’s Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
    She currently co-chairs ASHP’s CE Quality and Accreditation committee, has served as a Continuing Education Provider Field Reviewer and focus group participant for ACPE, and is an active member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions.

    Prior to joining ASHP, Holly practiced in academia for 10 years focused on educating pharmacy students, residents, preceptors, and practitioners. Holly is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, completed her PGY1 residency training at the University of Louisville and is also a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

  • Keith J. DelMonte, PharmD

    Director of Experiential Education and Continuing Professional Education, Wegmans School of Pharmacy St. John Fisher University

    Keith DelMonte is an Associate Professor as well as the Director of Experiential Education and Continuing Professional Education at the St. John Fisher University, Wegmans School of Pharmacy. He has been in those roles for 15 years. Teaching includes a Medical Reserve Corps didactic elective and the immunization training course, in addition to APPE elective rotations in Women’s Health Drug Information, Continuing Professional Education and various service/international rotations. Previously, he was at the University of Rochester Medical Center for 20 years with his most memorable position as a Pediatric Intensive Care & Cardiac Care Unit clinical specialist, with additional roles as internship, IPPE/APPE and PGY-1 residency as the coordinator. He also has a consulting business related to women’s health for over 30 years.

    Keith received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut, completed a residence at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and completed his Pharm.D. Degree at the University of Colorado.

  • Sarah Pagenkopf, PharmD, BCPS

    Director of Professional and Educational Services, Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin

    Sarah Pagenkopf, PharmD, BCPS, is the Director of Professional and Educational Services at the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) and serves as the PSW ACPE Continuing Education Administrator. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, following her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

    With over 15 years of experience in health-system pharmacy across southeastern Wisconsin, Dr. Pagenkopf has held pivotal roles such as Clinical Pharmacist, Medication Safety Coordinator, IT Applications Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, PGY1 Residency Program Director, and Director of Pharmacy. Her passion for improving the health and well-being of the communities she serves has driven her to advocate for greater access to healthcare and innovative patient care solutions. In 2017, she earned Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), further demonstrating her dedication to advancing patient outcomes.

  • Karissa Kim, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP

    Professor-Educator, Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences, Director, Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education, University of Cincinnati, James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy

    Karissa Y. Kim received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco, in 1992 and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana, California, in 1993. Prior to joining the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy in 2005, she served as an Assistant Professor at Temple University from 1997 to 2002. She is currently a Professor of Pharmacy Practice (Educator Track) and the Director of Continuing Pharmacy Education at the University of Cincinnati.

    Since completing her residency, Dr. Kim has worked as a clinical pharmacist specialist in ambulatory care at the Jerry L. Pettis Veterans’ Administration Medical Center, the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, the Temple University Internal Medicine Clinic, St. Elizabeth Medical Center Fort Thomas, and West Chester Hospital. Her areas of interest include cardiology, health literacy, health equity, and scholarship of teaching and learning.

  • Lisa McDonald Reyes, MPH

    Associate Director of Continuing Education, University of Southern California School of Pharmacy

    Lisa McDonald Reyes is the Associate Director of Continuing Education at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. She oversees the Office of Continuing Professional Development, which offers various educational programs. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science from Pepperdine University and a Master of Public Health from Azusa Pacific University. She is involved in community health initiatives and has participated in events like the Community Health Worker Certificate Training at USC.

  • Kathryn (Kathy) Schott, PhD

    Vice President, Operations for CEimpact, a pharmacy education company

    Kathy Schott received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. After a number of years in regulatory, marketing, and communication positions, Kathy completed a master’s degree in Adult Learning and Organizational Performance at Drake University. For more than 12 years, she served in various roles as a member of the experiential education team at Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, with an emphasis on student and preceptor professional development. During the last four years of that period, Kathy earned a Ph.D. in Education from Drake University and completed a dissertation focused on the role of co-curricular engagement in student professional development. She currently serves as Vice President, Operations for CEimpact, a pharmacy education company. Her professional interests include assessment, continuing professional development, and enhancing learner experience.

  • Jenelle Sobotka, PharmD, FAPhA

    Cincinnati, Ohio, USA (Chair)| Professor and Director, Online Certificate and Masters Programs in Pharmacy Leadership, University of Cincinnati, James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy

    Jenelle Sobotka is Professor and Director of the Online Certificate and Masters Programs in Pharmacy Leadership at the University of Cincinnati James L Winkle College of Pharmacy. Dr. Sobotka received her B.S. Pharmacy and Pharm.D. degrees from the University of Iowa. Prior to joining the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Sobotka was Professor and Endowed Chair of Pharmacy Practice at Ohio Northern University (ONU) where she was responsible for enhancing professional leadership development in the students’ curriculum. In 2012-13; Dr. Sobotka served as President of the American Pharmacists Association, and also served two 3 year terms with the Board of Trustees. She currently serves as Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Academic Section of the Federation of International Pharmacists (FIP) and Board Director to the FIP Foundation. She also is the 2018-19 Chair-elect of the Leadership Development SIG for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Dr. Sobotka has received several honors and awards including the Kappa Epsilon National Career Achievement award, the University of Iowa Rho Chi Honorary Alumni Award, and is a Fellow in the American Pharmacists Association. She has received an Honorary Degree from Western University and was honored as a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Pharmacy. Dr. Sobotka is also a Distinguished Fellow of the USA National Academies of Practice for health care professionals.

  • Thomas Paraidathathu, BPharmacy, MS, PhD

    Malaysia (Vice-Chair) | Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Executive Dean, and Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Taylor’s University

    Thomas Paraidathathu graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Nagpur University, India and a MS and PhD in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He started work as a hospital pharmacist and then in the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (Malaysian equivalent to FDA). Thomas subsequently served for many years at the National University of Malaysia (UKM). For his service to UKM, Thomas was appointed as Emeritus Professor of UKM in 2016.

    Thomas has been involved in the accreditation of pharmacy degree programs in Malaysia and other parts of the world for various accreditation bodies. He is Chairperson of the Joint Technical Committee of the Malaysian Pharmacy Board for a third term.
    Thomas was actively involved in the activities of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) and the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) and was previously a Council member and Deputy President of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS). He was awarded the GSK-MPS Pharmacist of the Year Award 2008 and was awarded the FAPA Pharmacy Education Section Award in 2023.

    Thomas currently holds the position of Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Taylor’s University.

  • Jeanine P. Abrons, PharmD, MS

    Iowa City, Iowa, USA | Co-Director, University of Iowa Mobile Clinics

    Dr. Abrons earned her pharmacy degree from Drake University and a Master of Science in Social & Administrative Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She began her career as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and now serves as Co-Director of the University of Iowa Mobile Clinics, overseeing 14 clinic sites. At the University of Iowa, she also holds adjunct appointments in the Carver College of Medicine, the Department of Emergency Medicine, and the College of Pharmacy, where she leads international rotations. Previously, she served as a Clinical Associate Professor, delivering curriculum in global health, travel medicine, culture, and leadership. Dr. Abrons also has instructor roles at the University of Technology, Jamaica. As founder and CEO of Travel Medica, she advances global health education, consulting, and eHealth services across more than 20 countries. Her academic collaborations include Dominica State College, the University of Technology in Jamaica, as well as institutions and associations in Grenada, and she has also worked with other countries and sites, contributing to curricular design, program development, and regulatory capacity building.

    Dr. Abrons’ teaching and scholarship span authorship and editorial leadership for the APhA Pharmacists’ Peripheral Brain, which she has authored yearly for 15 years, the University of Iowa Teaching Cases, and Active Learning Exercises, as well as service on editorial boards for JAPhA, Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning, and developmental writing board service with Pulses. Internationally, she leads mobile clinics, emergency preparedness, BLS, and eHealth initiatives in Dominica, working with government agencies, pharmacies, and local communities to expand training and access to care. She also serves as a Fulbright Program Advisor, integrating global practice into student preparation. Her contributions have been recognized with honors, including the AACP Global Health SIG Individual Service Award, the APhA Pinnacle Award, and the State of Iowa Immunization Champion Award. Globally, she was elected to the International Pharmacy Federation Academic Section Executive Council, where she chairs the Advocacy, Policy, and Global Influence Group. She is a passionate advocate for advancing pharmacy education and the roles of pharmacists worldwide.

  • Abdullah M. Alhammad, BSc, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP 

    Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University

    Dr. Abdullah M. Alhammad, BSc, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the College of Pharmacy, King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In 2017, he held an appointment as manager of clinical pharmacy services and drug information and poisoning center at King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH)-King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC). Over the last eight years, he has served as the clinical pharmacy consultant in adult critical care services and percepts pharmacy interns and residents. He also served as the PGY-1 pharmacy residency program director for three years. He has been the director of the adult critical care pharmacy residency program in KSUMC since 2016.

    Dr. Alhammad is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and board-certified critical care pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. His research/scholarship focuses on advancing pharmacy education and training, exploring and evaluating pharmacy practices and quality of life in adult critically ill patients.

  • Sally A. Arif, PharmD, BCCP

    Chicago, Illinois, USA | Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Downers Grove

    Dr. Sally Arif is a tenured Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University (MWU) College of Pharmacy and Cardiology Clinical Pharmacist at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Arif received her Pharm.D. from the University of Kansas and completed her PGY1 Residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital and PGY2 Internal Medicine Residency at Indiana University Health. She is an active member of regional and international pharmacy organizations, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Global Health and Health Equity PRNs, Vice-Chair of the DEIA Committee, National Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) FPGEE Review Committee, and the Federation of International Pharmacists (FIP) Ethics Advisory Group. She has served on the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)’s Student Affairs Taskforce, Office of Minority Health Advisory Committee, and as Chair of the Health Disparities and Cultural Competency SIG.

    Dr. Arif has been awarded the MWU Teacher of the Year, Outstanding Advisor, and Preceptor of the Year for several consecutive years. In 2024, she received the AACP Pharmacy Practice Distinguished Educator Award and the Pearson National Teaching Awards for Inclusive Pedagogy and Community Engagement, recognizing her service-learning initiatives focusing on refugee health in Chicago and the development of international experiential rotations in the United Arab Emirates and Guatemala.

  • Joseph T. DiPiro, PharmD

    Richmond, Virginia, USA | Professor of Pharmacy, and Associate Vice President for Health Sciences, Virginia Commonwealth University

    Dr. DiPiro received his BS in Pharmacy (Honors College) from the University of Connecticut and PharmD from the University of Kentucky. He completed a residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and a fellowship in Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. He served on the Faculty of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy for 24 years, as Executive Dean of the South Carolina College of Pharmacy from 2005 to 2014 and Dean and Professor at the VCU School of Pharmacy from 2014 to 2022. He currently serves as Associate Vice President for Health Sciences at VCU.

    He is Past President of AACP and Past Chair of the Council of Deans. He is Past-President of ACCP and served on the Board of Regents. He is a Fellow of the College and has served on the Research Institute Board of Trustees He has been a member of ASHP, having served on the Commission on Therapeutics and the Task Force on Science and as Editor of the ASHP Pharmacy Forecast. Dr. DiPiro was elected a Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

    Dr. DiPiro is an editor for Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiologic Approach, now in its 12th edition and the ASHP Pharmacy Forecast. He served as Editor of The American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education for 12 years. He is also the author of Concepts in Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Editor of the Encyclopedia of Clinical Pharmacy. He has published over 250 journal papers, books, book chapters, and editorials in academic and professional journals.

  • Sherief Khalifa, PhD

    Dubai, UAE | Professor and Vice Chancellor for Quality & Institutional Effectiveness, Dean, Dubai Medical University, College of Pharmacy, UAE, and Professor of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Suez Canal University, Egypt

    Sherief Khalifa received his BSc (Pharm) at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia in 1986, and his PhD at the University of Mississippi (USA) in 1994. Dr. Khalifa was a Fulbright Scholar at Georgia State University in 2001 and accepted an adjunct faculty appointment with the School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi, from 2001 – 2005. He joined the Faculty of Pharmacy at Misr International University (MIU), Egypt until 2010. Before leaving MIU to join Qatar University (QU), he was Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy in the Faculty of Pharmacy.

    Dr. Khalifa joined the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU) in August of 2017 as Professor and Dean. Under his leadership the GMU PharmD program received accreditation by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation and certification by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). The Master in Clinical Pharmacy program also received accreditation by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation. In 2020, initial accreditation by CAA was granted to the College’s new Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development program.

    In January of 2020, Dr. Khalifa assumed the position of Vice Chancellor for Quality and Global Engagement. In July of 2021, under his leadership Gulf Medical University received international institutional accreditation by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the agency that accredits higher education institutions in the United Kingdom. In January 2023, Dr. Khalifa’s title was changed to Vice Chancellor for Quality and Institutional Effectiveness.

    In March of 2024, Dr. Khalifa joined Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls as the Dean of the College. He also serves as Vice Chancellor for Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness and leads this portfolio as the College undergoes transformation into a full-fledged university.

  • Surakit Nathisuwan, PharmD, BCPS

    Bangkok, Thailand| Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Thailand

    Dr. Surakit Nathisuwan received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Mahidol University in 1994 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 1999. He later completed a Specialized Residency in Pharmacotherapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. Surakit Nathisuwan has played an important role in providing education and training in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy for health care personnel in Thailand and the Southeast Asian countries. He also actively advocates for the implementation of multidisciplinary cardiac team to enhance the quality of care. His research works address relevant issues aiming to promote optimal use of pharmacotherapy in cardiac patients and related health policies, particularly in the developing countries.

Public Interest Panel

Members of the ACPE Public Interest Panel are individuals that do not have a pharmacy connection that serve as advisors to the ACPE Board of Directors and bring a public perspective to Board deliberations. They meet prior to each ACPE Board meeting and are appointed to 5-year terms.
